I've been a doomer for 10 years, but I recently purchased UT2K4, and have gotten into that quite a bit. I don't play a lot of different games though - generally I find something good and stick with it until I find something as good or better.

None of the above. The most loved FSP i have although i have played all mentioned is Tribes 1. It is a purely multiplayer based game and the first of its kind. It is so old now that it has been made available for free download and there are still many players so join us.

Game that are missing

Okay... I heard a lot about "heyyy what about this FPS ????" , "no one play this game ??????"

I couldn't put them all.... (limited slots) so I putted the TOP 4 of mine... I missed some great one like Battlefield or Halo (before PlausiblyDamp added it) or Tribe or..... etc.... There's so many FPS game that I couldn't put them all...

If it's not in the 4 choice... maybe you could tell us your own top 4 ? if you had created this poll... which game will you have made availlable to vote on them ?

I hate Halo's vehicle handling. It's so sloppy.

I'd have to say UT, although I used to play Doom alot when it was first released. They're really showing their age now.
And of course, any of the Jedi Knight games. No realistic weapons quite compare to using a Light Sabre.

THere are so many great examples, But they really come down to different generations of Engines. Doom was definetly the best of its time, better even than Quake, which was a bit weird in places. Halflife has definetly been a leader, and has impressively held onto the title for many years now. Looks like we're starting a new generation now with Doom 3 and Half Life 2. I honestly didn't think much of Far Cry, the graphics are nice, but the gameplay is different from anything I've played lately and I had trouble aiming and killing people...

While you're waiting give Call of Duty a go, the atmosphere in it is incredible.

Solider of Fortune 2. Graphics are a bit dated now, but the gameplay is excellent, very realistic weapons.

America's Army seems very good, but i cant be bother to go through all the training missions. - I just want to play the game!!

Yeahhhh I know... I finished the game once... but what I really like (and that become borign after...) is the Custom Seeded Automatic generated mission. They are cool to do... but it all look the same at the end.

But I really enjoy playing SOF2 with a bunch of friend ! When I got the Rocket Launcher against a Snipper (I'm a sniper specialist :p) they see how to "snipe" somebody with a rocket :p lollll

It's not a true FPS but I liked Operation Flashpoint a lot. Viet Cong wasn't bad either.
Back in the days Duke Nukem was a lot of fun to play.
My current machine doesn't allow me to play these new games but I guess that's okay since I'm spending more time doing serious work now. :D

I played the Half Life 2 Beta leak at my friend's house... It's so buggy that you'd have to turn on noclip(= no physics and no collision detection) for you to WALK anywhere. It's not as great as I thought.. but then again its a beta.

I doubt that Valve will release this in the near future.

Trust me :P, it will get pushed. I remember me and a couple of my friends were waiting for the game to come out over the weekend (somewhere around October 9th or 10th ish)... it never came .. Valve updated their site the day before it was supposed to be released and uhh.. they pushed it to 2 weeks later.. they kept pushing and pushing it and now its at Nov. 16th.

I hope you do realize that the game was scheduled to be released like... in the beginning of the summer.. ;).. some rumors indicate that it was supposed to be released last year!

edit: Oh yeah, btw, they should DEFINATELY release it before christmas.. or a crapload of people wont end up buying it and they'll lose a lot of money.

Disbeliever!

Actually, I remember hearing last year when Valve said they were shooting for end of September. We all know what happened after that.

But this time it's Vivendi that's driving the Nov 16 date. I tend to belive the publisher more, since it'll be their butt on the line if it's late. Since the gold master went to Vivendi about a month ago (same as Release Candidate), I trust that all is well.

I'd be willing to bet my Cure "Join the Dots" collection on it. That's somewhere between "I'd bet a penny" and "I'd bet my car", but more towards the "I'm pretty sure" and nothing like "I'd bet a million dollars".

In the meantime, why not play CS:Source? You can watch the tires roll down the hill, wobble, and tip over. Over shoot big barrels, milk jugs, and more. It's weird how the wooden crates still don't explode though...

Fav 1st person Shooter

Halo all the way (on PC). I have Halo on XBOX and I don't like it as much as the PC version. The maps slightly differ. Halo 2 on XBOX is a joke in terms of how it utilizes XBOX Live with its matchmaking feature. Also, you have to join a new game after each game, which is weak. I'm still playing Halo on PC more than anything else. I'm wondering if Halo 2 will come out on PC and how it will compare.
