What cars do you guys have?

I drive a opel kadett e (vauxhall astra a in gb). I it wants it is a good car, but it's so old that it doesn't want that every day.
I'm looking forward to my diploma, then the first thing i'll buy is a new car.
 
I drive a 1996 jeep cherokee sport - fully paid for (love that - and the payment on my wife's 2002 Honda is far less). I bought it new and it's still in great shape even being at over 100k miles. Prior to buying that I didn't even have a car for a few years - I just walked or biked to work (I had two different jobs in two different cities - one was a whopping 500 yards away from my residence and the other wasn't much further).

I own and drive a gold 1993 Buick LeSabre Custom which I bought for $2750. The starter **** the bed, and I had it replaced for $200. The water pump died, and I replaced it for $32.

I saved myself $30,000 - $200 - $32, as I like to put it. I never did see the point in putting yourself in debt for something that looks slightly better. *shrug*

Plus, I have the benefit of being able to drive through just about anything, including small trees, steel gates and Minis. Built Ford Buick tough.
 
My first car - 1974 Ford Montego. That was a beast of a car. It was like driving a boat at 100mph down the highway.

My second car - 1984 Chevy Sprint.

My third car - 1987 ford ranger. This little truck served me well for many years. It also served my uncle up until it died at around 300,000 km.

My first new car - 2003 Toyota Matrix. A nice little car that hasn't let me down yet!
 
I would of thought people on this forum would generally have nice new cars. Programming is a well paid profession, and young'uns a side most people here should be on good money. So i am surprised to see people still average driving cars from the eighties. Obviously classic Porsches would be acceptable. :)
 
Well... I like new brand car. But... what can be less popular than an 6 cynlinder old car ? When you make the engine roar.... aaaaahhhhhh..... nearly an orgasm ! lollll

I like the sound from those old car. The look is oldish but still classic in style.

Nothing can beat that.
 
I wouldn't have bought a new car if I didn't have the commute I have now. I would have spent my money on a new computer! :D

I'm working on my diploma now. so my programming isn't paid very well. when i good money next year, i'm going to buy a nice new 240ps-turbo astra :cool:

That's an interesting concept - I'll have to let my boss know that first thing tomorrow.

I think the biggest thing is that not everybody is into flashy, expensive cars. Even if you do make a lot of money you're not required to drive a 60k SUV with a home theater system in it or a tricked out sports car.

Generally programming is well paid. Well program design is well paid at least. Personally i am only on average money as i have only been here a year, but in 2/3 yrs i should be laughing.
