Antoine Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Dear, Because of a hard disk crash, I had to re-install (my fully legal) Visual Studio .NET Profesional package. When I want to add a MSComm control at designtime I get an error "You do not have the license for......... etc" What the hell is that about ??? Before my crash everything worked fine, and now it doesn't, what can be the problem ?? I'm getting sick of this  Hopefully anyone can help me :( :) Antoine Quote
Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted August 21, 2003 Administrators Posted August 21, 2003 Did you have VB6 installed before the crash? Although VS.Net ships with some of the VB6 controls you don't get the design time licence for them. Best thing to do is just install VB6 as well. Antoine Posted August 21, 2003 Author Posted August 21, 2003 Yeah I know, the VB6 was the problem, but I need a good and simple comport system, and the one that's given on the microsoft website is much to large alot of code, which could be prevented with one nice MSComm control. Is it possible to register, or is there something other control for a COMMport ? I cannot install VB6 again Regards, Antoine Quote
*Gurus* divil Posted August 22, 2003 *Gurus* Posted August 22, 2003 No, you don't get the MSComm control with Visual Studio .NET. Just because the one on the Microsoft is "a lot of code" doesn't mean it's not good. Quote MVP, Visual Developer - .NET Now you see why evil will always triumph - because good is dumb.
