KennyMcAtee Posted August 20, 2003 Posted August 20, 2003 I am convinced that Bill Gates goal in life is to torture us all. He must be stopped. Does anybody have a clue how to communicate through and RS232 port in VB.Net, using the compact framework? To make things even harder I am developing this for CE 4.1. Not sure why they even bothered with the compact framework it appears to be incapable of doing anything. I have found several examples of how to do this by importing the old MSComm. This works fine as a regular Windows application and as a Pocket PC app, but once you try to convert this to the compact framework as a CE device it no longer works. Thanks for any help you can provide. Quote
*Gurus* divil Posted August 21, 2003 *Gurus* Posted August 21, 2003 Unfortunately there is no built-in support for RS232 communications in .NET 1.1. There will be support in the next version, whether or not that will extend to the compact framework I have no idea.
