wyrd Posted August 17, 2003 Posted August 17, 2003 Yeah, use an e-mail client and not web based mail. Outlook Express, Eudora, whatever. That way all your mail is stashed on your HD and you don't have to worry about space. :P Quote Gamer extraordinaire. Programmer wannabe.
ThePentiumGuy Posted August 17, 2003 Author Posted August 17, 2003 what if someone sends me a virus? then, my HD would be.. gone ( so, can i create my own.. email, like thepentiumguy@myname.com without paying, while using an email client? *Experts* Volte Posted August 17, 2003 *Experts* Posted August 17, 2003 You should see how much it costs to get an e-mail address from your ISP, and it's usually pretty cheap. More reliable too. I think mine is $4.99 a month or something from my ISP. Quote
ThePentiumGuy Posted August 17, 2003 Author Posted August 17, 2003 i think it comes free with Verizon.. so does that mean, i can get ANY email name i want? wyrd Posted August 17, 2003 Posted August 17, 2003 If you want your own domain you'll have to register it (usually costs around $8/year). You should call your ISP and see what they offer in terms of providing e-mail for your own domain name. I bet you'll have to pay for hosting too though. :P You won't get a virus unless you actually open the attachment. :P Even so, you should be backing up your HD periodically anyway.
