*Gurus* divil Posted August 12, 2003 *Gurus* Posted August 12, 2003 Does anyone else find that completely hideous? I get quite a few requests to make my controls implement that style, but damn... *Experts* Volte Posted August 12, 2003 *Experts* Posted August 12, 2003 I'm with you. You can't even turn it off... even in classic style it's just a gray version of that awful tube design. Wayyyy too many gradients... Quote
Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted August 12, 2003 Administrators Posted August 12, 2003 Really not keen on it in outlook, it makes the group headers seem about twice the size of the office xp / 2000 ones. pjv Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 Looks like microsoft need to learn about the power of subtlety in UI design :). And I thought the vs.net autohiding panels looked pig ugly! Pete Quote
Mothra Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 ...Searching for air sickness bag... Those are some pretty nasty color schemes! I do, however, like the layout of it. It's kind of nice. Gives me a few ideas! >;) Quote Being smarter than you look is always better than looking smarter than you are.

jorge Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 I gues it will take some getting used to, it took me 2 month to get used to xp, and now i'm back in classic mode :p Quote Jorge - http://www.blackdot.be/?page=apache.htm
AlexCode Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 As we're talking about this... can't we really turn that style off?? I had, once, a beta version installed but my eyes and my inteligence made me uninstall it :D Quote Software bugs are impossible to detect by anybody except the end user.
*Experts* Volte Posted October 11, 2003 *Experts* Posted October 11, 2003 It looks like a very good product and a significant update to Office (unlike OfficeXP which was basically just an update to make the menus look good :p). I would never uninstall something because it looked bad (unless it was so terrible it made it hard to use), and I'm sure I will get used to it. I just wish Microsoft would pick a style and stick with it. The OfficeXP style looks great and professional, I can't see why they would want to drop it after only one generation of products which use it. Quote
AlexCode Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 I just uninstalled hopping the final release will come up with other or others styles... :D But it looks real bad... It seems like a interface I would have made for my very first app ... real bad... :p Quote Software bugs are impossible to detect by anybody except the end user.
jorge Posted October 12, 2003 Posted October 12, 2003 Becouse it would blend in better with longhorn and windows xp i thingk, but i agree the xp style look professional, 2k3 dtyle look for litle kidies :( It looks like a very good product and a significant update to Office (unlike OfficeXP which was basically just an update to make the menus look good :p).
