Hello,

The application I am making can work with a variety of extensions that other applications may also be using. So, I am putting a listbox in where the user can select whatever file types they would like to assign. My question is how would I register file types programatically at runtime???

Thanks.

I'm not sure of a direct method but you could just add entries to the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT section for the file types using Microsoft.Win32.Registry. The functions and classes are very self-explanatory and MSDN has some help for using the classes.
.Net allows software to be written for any version of Windows and not break like Unmanaged applications unless using Unmanaged procedures like APIs. If your program uses large amounts of memory but releases it when something else needs it, then what's the problem?
