iebidan Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 I'm not in the age you're looking for (far more older, but below 30's) but if you're interested in game programming I can help you out, I was developing a game using C# and DirectX9, but stopped due my job. The first recommendation will be to use C# instead of VB.NET, but anyway, you can contact me if you need any help in my MSN Messenger address (iebidan@hotmail.com) I'm located at -6 CST Quote Fat kids are harder to kidnap
hog Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Just to add however that you can still write some pretty snazzy games in VB.Net, ok not the Quake or Doom variety, but still good all the same:) Quote My website
karatekid Posted June 19, 2003 Author Posted June 19, 2003 THX THX evrybody still open to suggestions but 1 question: Is c# like C++ cause c++ is really hard looking. Also i need some directx help it is also confusing. If you know of any tutorials please show them to me. Once again THX Adam Quote
iebidan Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Adam, C# is more like Java, is like a mixture of C++ and VB.NET, I find C# more robust than VB. To use DirectX in .NET you have to download the SDK of DirectX9 (around 200 Mb), you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=124552ff-8363-47fd-8f3b-36c226e04c85&languageid=f49e8428-7071-4979-8a67-3cffcb0c2524&displaylang=en Only DirectX9 has the managed files for developing in .NET Also, you must know... with DirectX9 you can draw simple images easy, but if you're looking for something more complex you'll need a 3rd party app like 3D Studio Max, and also you will need a plug-in for this app to create the DirectX files, you can find this plug-in around DirectX forums, you can write your own DirectX files but is hard and complex (believe me). As I told you I was writing a game and is pretty complex and requieres a lot of time, I'm keep my offer to you I can help you out, also I can write code with you. Contact me I'm online from 9am to 7pm Central Standard Time in México City, from where are you???. Quote Fat kids are harder to kidnap
