wyrd Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 Maybe it's my imagination, but have things gotten a little bit more tense around here? Maybe it's my explanation or the way I come off (or others, I've noticed this with not just myself) but it seems like people are starting to get offended when advice is suggested on efficiency improvements of their app or design. I mean, it's just a suggest, they don't HAVE to take it (who's to say the suggestion is correct in the first place). Quote Gamer extraordinaire. Programmer wannabe.

hog Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 wryd, I think it probably doesn't help when one person gives advice in good faith only to have another member make a quip about it rather than simply offering alternative advise. Quote My website
Heiko Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 To me it reads as if either side was a bit thinskinned in that debate. But then I am not a native speaker. Quote .nerd
hog Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 Yeah, maybe you are right.... Perhaps we should have a joke forum for members to post humour to ease off the stress of thinking about all these programming problems :-) PS Heike.....what is your avatar by the way??:D Quote My website
Heiko Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 Heiko. That's a lizard that I photographed somewhere between Broken Hill and Silverton during my '2000 Olympic vacation in Australia. Quote .nerd
jspencer Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 Heiko, is that a blue tongue lizard (I think that's what they're called anyway)? My little brother has one for a pet.... (he lives in Oz).. Quote
Heiko Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 We didn't do french kissing. I wasn't aware of the blue tongue. But thanks for the info! Quote .nerd
jspencer Posted June 4, 2003 Posted June 4, 2003 I remember now, he's a Shingle-back Lizard (Trachydosaurus rugosus).
