Unrecoverable build error

I'm trying to create a new [web] deployment project; I'm stuck on an "Unrecoverable build error". The project file (VDPROJ file) is getting generated; yet the msi file (MSI) is not. The diagnostic is short and to the point:

"UNRECOVERABLE BUILD ERROR C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\.......\project.vdproj"

 

Any suggestions?

Does the project Build as expected (prior to the deployment project) ?

Thank you Mark; this the first article that I've read about the "Unrecoverable Build Error" problem; I'll forward it to the engineering team.

 

As it turns out, pure desperation drove me to happen across the closing all the windows in Visual Studio.
