Webbot Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 Hi! I don't know if I'm posting this question at the right place or if I'm even able to explain what I want to ask about, but I'll give it my best shot! Some week or two ago I bought a book called "Game Scripting Mastery", which basically dealt with scripting in games. It looked cool (and difficult to say the least) but the thing is, it only dealt with C++ and that's not my favourite programming language so to speak. Anyway, does anyone know if one can use already existing scripting languages like Python, Lua, Ruby, Tcl and so one, along with Visual Basic.NET? Although it seemed quite difficult it also looked awesome being able to use scripts for NPCs and items in, for example, RPGs. Is it possible to call scripts from within VB.NET and all that? Just kinda wondering. Would also appreciate if anyone hade some tip of a website with relating material. Thanx! /Marcus_Webbot The book I mentioned above can be found at http://www.premierpressbooks.com/ca...isbn=1931841578 in case my explanation is not all that good. Quote
*Gurus* divil Posted May 10, 2003 *Gurus* Posted May 10, 2003 I don't know if this'll help you, but I wrote an article this morning on harnessing the .NET languages to make your applications scriptable. You can view it in the Tutor's Corner. Quote MVP, Visual Developer - .NET Now you see why evil will always triumph - because good is dumb. My free .NET Windows Forms Controls and Articles
