VBOfficer Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Hi, I just don't know use which edition of Visual Studio .NET 2008? Express, Standard or Professional ?! I have express and it's OK just it won't allow me to select target .net framework when I want to create a new project. The professional version allows you to select your new project is for .net framework 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5 ?! I don't think I use professional version features, although I don't know what they are? But I need this ability to select the .net framework. Anyone knows a table that compares express, standard and professional edition? Or have any information on this? Also, if I compile my project using EXPRESS or TEAM SYSTEM edition, is there a difference in the quality of output assembly? For example, the output assembly will have more performance or something? Thanks all :) Quote
Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted April 3, 2009 Administrators Posted April 3, 2009 http://www.microsoft.com/express/support/faq/ point 14 covers the framework version. As far as I am aware all the varsions of visual studio use the same compiler and as such would produce the same code without any differences in performance etc. Quote Posting Guidelines FAQ Post Formatting Intellectuals solve problems; geniuses prevent them. -- Albert Einstein
