aliassce Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Hello; I want to play several types of audio files in my application. If I use Managed DirectX assemblies, will a client computer that has not installed Managed Directx (or even DirectX) be able to use my application? Is it enough just to deploy the assembly I used? And also do I need to pay for a licence to use DirectX? Thanks Quote
Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted December 1, 2008 Administrators Posted December 1, 2008 You don't need a license for DirectX however you would need the managed libraries installed, just deploying the assemblies themselves isn't going to be enough. Nate Bross Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 XNA is the way to do fx in .NET (C#). They are currently on version 3.0; there is a ~7MB resitro (+ .NET). http://xna-uk.net/files/folders/randomchaos/entry1973.aspx may be worth a look.
