Lanc1988 Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I made an icon for my program a long time ago and was able to set it as the window icon and shortcut icon for the program. Anyway, yesterday I tried to make a better one in photoshop but apparently I must be saving it wrong or something because vb.net is not letting me set it as the icon, the OK button is grayed out when I browse to the new icon. I have attached the photoshop file for the icon:Icon.psd Quote
Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted June 28, 2008 Administrators Posted June 28, 2008 You will need to convert the image to a .ico file, windows doesn't support using a .psd file as an icon. Lanc1988 Posted June 28, 2008 Author Posted June 28, 2008 I tried to do that but I might have done it the wrong way. In photoshop I go to File -> Save As but under File Type they dont have .ico so I choose .bmp but in the File Name box I type Icon.ico and it appears that it works but apparently something isn't working right. Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted June 28, 2008 Administrators Posted June 28, 2008 A .bmp isn't an icon file and giving it a .ico extension isn't enough. You will to convert the .bmp to a valid .ico file. http://www.coolutils.com/Online-Image-Converter.php might do the trick.
