kcwallace Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Does anyone have any suggestions for compressing alll contents of a folder, and its sub-folders while maintaining the directory structure? Quote Go Beavs!!!
Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted May 13, 2008 Administrators Posted May 13, 2008 http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SharpZipLib/Default.aspx has a free compression library that will do zip / gzip / tar archives - effectively you could create a zip file or similar from a folder. digioz Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I have been using it for years now on both Windows and Pocket PC applications, and never had any problems with it. I highly recommend it over other zip libraries I have come across. Pete Quote
PrOpHeT Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 just so you know as well... You can force windows to do it for you. Now granted that provides a little less control, but if the end result is you just want a zip file... Have a look Here Why they did not provide some API or other interface for this with the CLR I will never know. Quote Life is a comedy to those who think; a tragedy to those who feel.
