Tabcontrol GUI

I have question on if changing any of these GUI elements about the window's form's tabcontrol is possible without resorting to making my own control with GDI calls.

 

1. I would like the test of tabs alligned to the left to read horizontally, not vertically.

 

2. I would like space in between the various tabs, such that you can see the form underneath, not butted up against each other as is default.

 

3. If #2 is not possible, I would like to add graphics to the tabs themselves.
