mayorofgeektown Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Hi, I am currently programming under VB 2005 Express beta 2. I know this is a beta release but I have had no problems up until today. I was running the 2.0 Beta of the .NET framework and upgraded to the final release v2.0. Now when I go to open a project in the IDE it crashes and asks for an error report. This is the same for all projects. I have a project finished and want to get it out the door, but I need to fix this problem. Does anyone know of a fix to this issue, or a link somewhere that will help me stop this program from crashing. Thanks, mayorofgeektown Quote
*Experts* Nerseus Posted November 5, 2005 *Experts* Posted November 5, 2005 Try creating a new, empty project and adding all of the source files back by hand? I just downloaded the gold copy of VS 2005 but haven't tried loading any beta projects yet. -ner Quote "I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. mayorofgeektown Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 No luck. I tried creating a new project as you pointed out, and the 'new project' box came up, but when I selected any type of app and pressed ok to create it, it just went back to the main page. Thanks, mayorofgeektown Quote
bri189a Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Did you uninstall the Beta version with the Uninstall tool as recommended by Microsoft before installing the final release? Quote
mayorofgeektown Posted November 6, 2005 Author Posted November 6, 2005 I began the install, forgeting about the beta however before the install began it said 'you must uninstall the following programs, and it named the beta framework. I went to 'add remove programs' and uninstalled the framework and restarted the install. Thanks, mayorofgeektown Quote
