ThienZ Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Hi, does anyone know how to make a chm file from a word document? It should be semi automatic, because the word file is still changing... I want to connect this chm file with HelpProvider later. thx in advance Quote
mskeel Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I'm not sure how to do it from word, but you can export the word doc to HTML and make a chm from that. I found an old program called the "HTML Help Workshop" which I use to create all of my help files (though there must be a better program out there). I also know that NDoc compiles chm files during their process of creating docuemtnation. That is an open source project so there might be a simple compilation component you can use. The basic gist, though, you have to get the word doc into HTML (or raw text if you don't want anything fancy) in order to create a chm file. Please let me know how it goes and if you find anything better than the "HTML Help Workshop".. Quote
Leaders dynamic_sysop Posted September 7, 2005 Leaders Posted September 7, 2005 well the creating a HTML file from a word file can be found on this code example i posted some time ago >> EXAMPLE << :) it's in the codebank about 3 quaters of the way down the page. Quote
travisowens Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 You probably need to convert it to HTML first because a CHM is a Compiled HTML Quote Experience is something you don't get until just after the moment you needed it
