thenerd Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I've written a server/client program, but in order for it to work, the server must configure the router to forward port xxxx. Is there a way to have my program do that automatically for him/her? Quote
rot13 Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I guess that depends on the router... I'm sure on the better routers... if not all routers, there is a way to do that with a script or something... or maybe connect to it and send it commands... not sure... what kind of router is it? or is it just for general, and it could be any router? ThePentiumGuy Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 He's talking about making this automatically setting up port forwarding on a given router. Not sure how to do this but the easiest thing to do is link the user to http://www.portforward.com ;) Quote My VB.NET Game Programming Tutorial Site (GDI+, Direct3D, Tetris [coming soon], a full RPG.... you name it!) vbprogramming.8k.com My Project (Need VB.NET Programmers) http://workspaces.gotdotnet.com/ResolutionRPG
