Swedish characters with streamreader?

Im working on an application where I need to import text from a txt file. I've used streamreader for this and it works fine.

The problem is that it skips the swedish characters å,ä, ö.

Does someone know how I can fix this?

When you create the StreamReader you can use one of the overloaded constructors and specify the encoding to use.

dim sr as New IO.StreamReader(fs, System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding(???))

 

where you would replace the ??? with either the code page or encoding name
