samseipp Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Is it possible to establish a relation between two tables residing on different datasets? Quote
Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted February 15, 2005 Administrators Posted February 15, 2005 Not that I am aware of, the concept of a data relation is really just between 2 tables within the same DataSet. cpopham Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 My question would be why would you want to do that? I would put all of the tables that you want to establish a relation between in the same dataset. *Experts* Nerseus Posted February 15, 2005 *Experts* Posted February 15, 2005 Maybe he wants to enforce a key, maybe between a lookup table in one dataset and the transactional data in another? My work usually splits up the datasets this way (sometimes more). When I've needed it, I've included the lookup table in both datasets. Mostly I would handle this through custome code to enforce the constraint, treating it like any other business rule. Normally a user would only get to change the value through a DropDown or some other means - effectively forcing them into a constrained value. -ner Quote "I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over.
