Would anyone have any idea why this error 1935 shows up during installation of my HP PSC 2355. I have tried talking to HP this issue. The idiots don't know their own products.

The last HP tech that I spoke to said that there was some issue the .NET Framework on my Win XP and the one in the CD. He had me uninstall the Software for 2355 and also .NET Framework. After that he had me copy "netfx.msi" and "netfx1.cab" on to the desktop only to discover that it doesn't have the "mscoree.dll" which he was so persitent about. He thought that by replacing all the "mscore".dll files with the ones extracted from "netfx1.cab" would solve my problem.

But heck, it didn't after install .Net and doing all the crap with him for more than 2 hours over the phone, I came back to square one. The weird part was that netfx1.cab didn't didn't have the mscoree.dll file but some other 3 files which contained mscoree as file name.

When I downloaded and extracted .Net Framework 1.1. The netfx1.cab file had following search result for mscore or even mscoree:

FL_mscoree_dll_____X86.3643236F_FC70_11D3_A536_009 0278A1BB8

mscoree_tlb_1________.3643236F_FC70_11D3_A536_0090 278A1BB8

FL_mscoreer_dll_ENU_X86.3643236F_FC70_11D3_A536_00 90278A1BB8

I even downloaded and extracted .Net Framework 1.0. The netfx1.cab file had following search result for mscore or even mscoree:

FL_mscoree_dll_____X86.3643236F_FC70_11D3_A536_009 0278A1BB8

mscoree_tlb_1________.3643236F_FC70_11D3_A536_0090 278A1BB8

Where the hell is that damn mscoree.dll file which everyone is talking so much about??

Please help.

Have you tried just re-installing the 1.1 framework to see if the problem goes away? Failing that it may be worth re-installing the framework and then applying the latest patch from windows update.

Not sure why they are recomending trying to extract the files manually as the framework should really be installed as a complete unit...
