Hello:

I'm new to .net, and have to whistle up a little app to change the screen resolution (windows 2000) for our company users. We are about to roll out a new application that requires a minimum resolution of 800x600. In an ideal world, it would check the current resolution, and if less than 800x600 change it to 800x600. I imagine that I will also have to package install the .net framework along with the app.....if anyone out there has advice/experience in this it would be very much appreciated.

You can retrieve the resolution of the primary monitor on a system by reading the following property:

System.Windows.Forms.SystemInformation.PrimaryMonitorSize()

Changing the resolution will require a Win32 API call, and I don't recommend going that route anyway. Instead, prompt the user to change the resolution manually and then restart the installation.
