hog Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I have just had my laptop wiped by our IT bods to remove W2K which had VS2003 running on it happily for ages and reinstalled ok without problems on a number of occassions. I now have XP Pro and am trying to install VS2003 but when I get to the initial step of the prerequists disk I get the following error; 'setup unable to run a program needed to proceed with the intallation, restart computer and try again - error 105' I do this and same thing happens. I have no other programs running and when I try to install on a W2K machine in my office it works OK. Is there a problem with VS2003 and XP Pro?? Thanks Quote My website
Joe Mamma Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 sounds like it is bombong installing msde. Is that one of the prerequisites??? SonicBoomAu Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 I had the same problem when I tried to install VS 2003. I had a second copy of the disk and that copy worked. Suggest trying another disc. neodammer Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 could it be a pesky cyclic redundency *sp* error? in that case a new cd is needed. Most of the time though if thats the case it just bluntly says so. Unless MS has all setup errors just say that message. Quote Enzin Research and Development
