Logins via ms sql authentication and oledb

I am trying to setup a webpage to authenticate users via ms sql authentication over oledb... Can someone point me in the right direction. I have only seen authentication via tables inside of db and windows authentication.

Any help would be great!

thanks-Lee

You'll need to read up on impersonation.

You sure impersonations? I want the user to authenticate directly to the ms sql server, I do not want to just run queires through a user...

Basically the user will be able to login via a form, session cookie stores the authentication info and then can run queries based on his security rights...

this is totally outside of an intranet, so no use of Domains.

thanks!

If i understand correctly. . .

you will have to pass the user name and password across the web (use HTTPS)

on the web server side build a connection string with the user name/password.
