If money wasn't a problem could any of you see, as a sole developer, needing to spend the extra money on a higher level subscription of MSDN? What I'm asking is I'm about to by a full version of VS, with VS2005 scheduled to come out 'some time in the first half of the year' according to a board I read at MSDN I'm having a hard time figure out what I want to do; by just a a Professional Edition of VS and wait until 2005 comes out to buy Enterprise or Architect, or even then stick with Professional. Money isn't the issue, but at the same time I'm having a hard time justifiying Enterprise or Architect when most of my programming is done at home on my own. Yes the developer licenses for all these types of Servers and what have you is tempting; but do I really need it? What does the developer licenses really allow me to do? I only have 3 boxes and 2 notepads... do I really need more stuff?! Just curious what some of you more experienced folks would do; what you personally use in your home.

It really depends on what you plan to do with it, and who your 'target audience' will be.

If its going to be small business and local customers, just go with Pro.

Enterprise and Architect are overkill unless you plan on using all the extra do-hickies that come with them.

Me = 49% Linux, 49% Windows, 2% Hot gas.

...Bite me.
