Leaders quwiltw Posted February 11, 2003 Leaders Posted February 11, 2003 You could say it's both version 7 of VB and completely different. This question has been asked over and over and over again. Did you read the FAQ at the top of this forum? Quote --tim
*Gurus* divil Posted February 11, 2003 *Gurus* Posted February 11, 2003 It's best to assume it is nothing at all like any previous version of VB, and then to be pleasantly surprised on those rare occasions when it actually is :) Quote MVP, Visual Developer - .NET Now you see why evil will always triumph - because good is dumb. Heiko Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Good one, divil :-) Yes. It is the same language after all, but it is an entirely new concept. You will hardly be able to recycle *any* code, and you will have a hard time relying on your experience with vb6 only. vb.net is (finally) a full grown object oriented language. If you are coming from classical procedural programming with the one or the other eventhandler or class here and there ... then there is a long road ahead. Quote .nerd
j0sh Posted February 11, 2003 Author Posted February 11, 2003 ok ok thx, i'll read the faq. but a short question before this: if i have only small experiences in vb4 and only wanna start learning a programming language, then vb .net is a good choice for me, or should i try something else, maybe try to find vb6? j0sh Quote
Moderators Robby Posted February 12, 2003 Moderators Posted February 12, 2003 I recommend .NET 100%, there's VB, C#, ASP, J# and much more. Once you're in you will simply love it. Take the time and learn it right. I would start with a book. http://www.xtremedotnettalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68986 Quote Visit...Bassic Software
