hello,

I have a problem with my sql server . I can open my enterprise manager and see my databases with windows authentication. but I want to set it to sql user authentication. when I set to that it gives this error "registration failed because of the connection failure. login fail for user sa,not associated with a trusted sql server connection"

maybe it is because when i installed sql i used windows authentication. do i have to install sql again.

any help is appriciated.

SQL authentication can be a headache to manage. I rarely us it.

but if for some god awful reason you really must have SQL authentication (I can't think of any), go to enterprise manager, right click the server in question, select properties and change it on the security tab.

I urge everbody to read this:

SQL Server 2000 SP3 Security Features and Best Practices

and this:

SQL Server 2000 C2 Security Admin and User Guide
