I think a few of us would kinda like this idea. Is it even possible?

It sure would be cool if i could turn the media shortcuts on my keyboard to a few vs.net shortcuts.

I always catch myself glancing for that f5 key and for some reason i still don't remember the stop shortcut. Moving these shortcuts to easier to hit keys on the keyboard is my plan.

I think it would be cool as **** to let my Play; Stop; and Next Track; Previous Track keys on my keyboard to execute Run; Stop; Step Through; Start without Debugging commands respectivly.

Obviously i can't find settings in the software to do something like this.

So who's the man with the plan on this one?

My guess is when you install the keyboard, you also install dll's. I have one of these new multimeadia keyboards and looking in the program files area there are plenty of dll's.

I would say one of those dll's controls the key assignments. Just need to work out what api's calls to use. Must be available somewhere.

I like the idea too, and I will have a look around as well.

Just thinking some more about it, why not just capture the keys pressed and if vs is open and its your play button pressed send the F5 command?

Would this work? Of course the app to do it would need to be running all the time. But you could minimise it and dont show it in the taskbar, that way you wouldn't see it.
