Jaco Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 Anyone know Microsoft Transaction Server(MTS)? Any advantages of using it? Where can I find more information about it? Thank you  I don't hear much about it anymore - it could be one of those things that Microsoft has lost interest in. It doesn't seem to be integrated into .NET. You used to use MTS for one or more of 3 reasons: 1. To conserve the number of object instances (with today's machines, this is not important anymore). 2. To maintain single transactions over multiple databases (I've never needed this...) 3. To administer application permissions at a higher level (there are other ways of doing this, so this isn't so important). So, I think MTS is, and was, a huge waste of time. Quote
