Do I need Visual Studio .Net Professional or Visual Basic .Net Standard?

Please clarify this for me, as the Microsoft is not specific.

 

I am a VB programmer who now works with VB6 Pro. I want to upgrade to .Net but don't need all the other languages of Visual Studio .Net.

 

Does Visual Basic .Net 2003 Standard Edition include a Setup Wizard that will include the .Net Framework in the Setup Package? And can I use the Bootstrapper plugin that will include MDAC in the package?

 

I need a professional setup package that will install everything needed on the person's computer but don't want to spend a fortune on VS.Net Pro if I don't need to.

Once you can create a setup package then it's up to you to include MDAC, the Framework or any other dependancy within your package.

Microsoft has a plugin that will include the .Net Framework and MDAC for you into the setup package.

 

My main question is does the Visual Basic .Net Standard Edition 2003 include the setup wizard. And am I licensed to distribute the package?

I don't know if 2003 includes the setup wizard, you are licensed to distribute the framework it is a free download from MS.
