timark Posted April 3, 2004 Posted April 3, 2004 I have just purchased and installed (it said without error) but when i go to create a new project and add new item it will not allow me to add a windows form or module etc to my project. Has anyone had this problem and how did you overcome it. This software currently is totally useless to me. Help me guys Quote
Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted April 3, 2004 Administrators Posted April 3, 2004 When you try to create a new project what options are you given? Which of the project templates did you choose? When you say the option to add a windows form isn't there what options are present? CattleRustler Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 yeah, that sounds pretty strange. I'd like to know the outcome of this as well Quote mod2software Home of the VB.NET Class Builder Utility - Demo and Full versions available now!
travisowens Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 This sounds similar to a problem I have and it's also a known problem in Visual Studio 2003. When I try to add a new code class or form I got an error that I can't recall but MS had a KB article on it you and have to re-install Windows Scripting Host. If you have 2000 or XP then get this version http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C717D943-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en If you have 9x, NT4 or 2003 then you need to get http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=0A8A18F6-249C-4A72-BFCF-FC6AF26DC390&displaylang=en I run 2003 server on my desktop and had to install that version. Yes it's VERY strange you can't install the 2000/XP version on 2003 and I think it's merely a version check problem. The KB doesn't mention anything about 2003 and I had to figure that out on my own. I had tried re-pairing VS2003 and re-installing VS2003 (from scratch) but only re-installing Scripting Host fixed my error (as the KB article describes). If I find the KB article, I'll update this thread. Quote Experience is something you don't get until just after the moment you needed it
