I am just about to begin a project involving some VB6 libraries, but I do not have a MSoft IDE on my machine.

Can I use the .NET IDE or should I install VB6.0 and SP5?

Any tips and hints for avoiding any compatability issues?

I guess that the .NET IDE is an improvement on 6.0?

Thanks

I use both vb6 and .net, which seem to cohabitate on the same machine with no problems. I only use vb6 if someone holds a gun to my head however. Best to code in VB6 for 6 apps and code in .net for .net apps. You will save yourself a big head ache in the long run.
