dragon4spy Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 Hi there! I just wonder how many people use winxp. I'm doubt targeting my users. Quote Don't judge a man by his look. Don't judge a book by its cover. :D
samsmithnz Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 There are some pretty good studies available, that have a more random sample than what you'll get here. I think that Windows 98 is still the most popular. Here's an example of an old one. http://leb.net/hzo/ioscount/. I can't find a newer one. I suspect that most of your replies will be XP or 2K here, as most people here are using .NET, and as it requires some fairly hefty hardware requirements, chances are they are using a newer computer with a newer OS. dragon4spy Posted January 8, 2004 Author Posted January 8, 2004 (edited) Hmm. Yes! It seems that all voters are .net programmers. Do u know any website that allow us to post a poll for free? Administrators PlausiblyDamp Posted January 11, 2004 Administrators Posted January 11, 2004 Is it really a surprise that on a .Net developer forum most members are .Net developers? Quote Posting Guidelines FAQ Post Formatting Intellectuals solve problems; geniuses prevent them. -- Albert Einstein

ThePentiumGuy Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 lets be logical here..... since (obviously) most people on this forum are .net users, its safe to assume that windows 2000 and XP are the most use OS's (on this forum) becuase .net can only be installed in 2000/XP Quote My VB.NET Game Programming Tutorial Site (GDI+, Direct3D, Tetris [coming soon], a full RPG.... you name it!) vbprogramming.8k.com My Project (Need VB.NET Programmers) http://workspaces.gotdotnet.com/ResolutionRPG

dragon4spy Posted January 13, 2004 Author Posted January 13, 2004 (edited) Hello people! This is awesome! The biggest (millions of people) and the latest worldwide OS poll is here! http://www.google.com/press/zeitgeist_nov03.html WinXP - 42% (1st place) Win98 - 27% (2nd place) Win2K - 19% (3rd place) and other OS... Check it out! :D Edited January 13, 2004 by dragon4spy Quote Don't judge a man by his look. Don't judge a book by its cover. :D
samsmithnz Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 That really surprises me. From what i'd heard, it is estimated that 40% of people still have 95 and 98. Maybe these are more 'casual' users who aren't likely to be voting in things like this anyway... Quote Thanks Sam http://www.samsmith.co.nz
dragon4spy Posted January 13, 2004 Author Posted January 13, 2004 Oops! It is not a poll but the statistics that google logged every unique visitor. It's the most accurate statistics of home & office pcs i ever found. Quote Don't judge a man by his look. Don't judge a book by its cover. :D
