hog Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 What is a PMesh? Should it be dealt with differently than a Mesh? Quote My website
*Experts* mutant Posted January 3, 2004 *Experts* Posted January 3, 2004 Do you mean Progressive Mesh? Quote
hog Posted January 3, 2004 Author Posted January 3, 2004 Erm I don't know? In MeshViewer the File menu mentions PMesh and Mesh. If it is means progressive mesh, what does that mean? Quote My website
*Experts* mutant Posted January 3, 2004 *Experts* Posted January 3, 2004 If a mesh is progressive it means that the level of detail of the mesh is automatically adjusted based on how far from the camera the mesh is. For example, you have a ultra detailed mesh, but if its far from the camera the details won't be noticable and it will only eat up processing time, but with progressive meshes, the number of vertices is decraesed. Thus making the mesh less detailed which isnt noticable anyway from afar. Quote
hog Posted January 4, 2004 Author Posted January 4, 2004 so does this decrease in vertices happen autmatically or do I need to code for it? Quote My website
