Shurik12 Posted December 27, 2003 Posted December 27, 2003 Hi, Could someone tell me whether it's 'worth' updating to .NET 2003 from .NET 2002 right now (from the point of view of VB.NET and/or ASP.NET developer). I read all that articles by Microsoft about security, etc. enhancement but wanted to hear someone who was developing in NET 02 then switched to .NET 03 and said something like "yes, I see the improvements" Thanks, Shurik. AlexCode Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 "yes, I see the improvements" :p Ok now, the improvements are there... several bugs fixed, new way of declaring variables, Framework 1.1 support... I think the major thing it may make someone to upgrade it's the Framework... althow in v2002 we could work with FW 1.1 it's a little "unconfortable"... It was a good politic to upgrade when MS almost offered it... Right now, I think you should wait for the next year version! Alex :D Quote Software bugs are impossible to detect by anybody except the end user.
Ish Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 If your based in the UK (or Europe I guess) you can still upgrade for peanuts (£19) until the end of the year: http://www.microsoft.com/uk/visualstudio/ Quote
