I think he did downloaded & installed this ASPNET forum in his machine, but don't know how to create a new forum.

 

I never try it before, but there should at least a document guide for us to know how to operate it right?

I don't think you need to mannual go to SQL Server table

 

During your installation, you should provide administrator user & password right? When you login using administrator username, you should be able to see a special configuration link for you to configure your forum. My experience is with other forum, not ASPNET forum, I will assume most of them are similar...

The administrative capabilities of the ASP.NET Forums package are weak at best. Most of the functionality is incomplete at best as the developers haven't gotten to it yet. Depending on which version you have you may very well need to administer your forums manually using a SQL client.

It used to create two sample forums on install. The username/password also used to be "admin/admin" which should allow you to get to the admin console, which as Derek said, is weak, but it'll let you create forums, give users permissions to the forums etc. For the most part you shouldn't have to muck around in the tables.
