psycho Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 .NET executable file is IL, that makes it slower than native exe from at least one reason, "double" compiling. could be .NET exe faster than native exe file? and how? Quote
*Experts* mutant Posted December 1, 2003 *Experts* Posted December 1, 2003 It could be slower but by very little. .NET compiles each method only once, the first time its executed. Also the .NET compiler makes heavy optimization to your code. The JIT for .NET does its job very very well. Overall, you don't have to worry about speed much, even with 3D games the perfomance loss with managed code is very small. Quote
