Simple WYSIWYG Editor

I'm trying to make a simple editor for a custom file type that uses

~B - bold

~F - Fixed width font

~0-9 - colors

 

I tried making an rtf that parses the text for colors colors and style but this is time and resource consuming. Does anyone have a better method?

I'd say that's your best bet. If you mess around with raw RTF codes (look at the TextRTF) property, you can speed it up quite a bit.
