Mehyar Posted November 13, 2003 Posted November 13, 2003 Greetings, Recently I have bought a very big collection of .NET books from Microsoft Press (well may be i went too far, but I am obsessed with .NET books). They cost me around a 1000 $. Anyways I was thinking I share many of the things I have that came as a supplement, Ebooks, sample chapters and other stuff on the forum. I think the problem is with the upload limit though. What is the maximum size of files that i can upload and Should I upload them to Tutors Corner or Code Repository ..... *Gurus* divil Posted November 13, 2003 *Gurus* Posted November 13, 2003 Those things are meant as incentives to buy the book, I would be very surprised if you were allowed to just post them somewhere publicly for anyone to download. If you wanted to use the knowledge you gained while learning from the book to write some samples that would be a better idea. And $1000? I thought I spent a lot when I first started learning .net and that was only $250 or so. And I still haven't read what I bought :) Quote MVP, Visual Developer - .NET Now you see why evil will always triumph - because good is dumb. My free .NET Windows Forms Controls and Articles
Mehyar Posted November 13, 2003 Author Posted November 13, 2003 Well as I told you I am obsessed with books :) I thought i spent too much too but hey this is knowledge, i know you have many tutorials online and other stuff, but to me there is nothing like sitting and reading a book. I cant read too much from the computer screen, maybe i am used to that since college. And I think at any time I can still those books for a reasonable price. And I think you are right, may be i can't post these stuff, becasue like you have a warning that says please do not distribute this CD. So i guess you are right, I will go with your idea and just post sample codes, but i can post sample chapters right ? Quote Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today
*Gurus* divil Posted November 13, 2003 *Gurus* Posted November 13, 2003 Presumably those sample chapters are already online somewhere, if so it would be better to link to them. Jay1b Posted November 13, 2003 Posted November 13, 2003 I brought 6 large books, that only cost me £150 or $200 (ish). I have nearly read half of 1 of them in 3 months. :) Quote

A senior, 4th year student in Computer Science. I keep all of texts, including computer books for reference (you never know, lol). I also have bought 4 Microsoft Book's on VB.Net and two on C#. I am learning VB 7.0 right now. At work, we will be implementing a CRM using VB.Net web services with ASP. I did get a book on ASP too, creating professional web services :) Quote Take care, Lori :D --DreamWEBCatcher.com
