Menu Item Shortcuts in MDI

I have an MDI form with a Main Menu.

 

The Main Menu, Menu Items are named:

 

File

&Exit

 

I have more menuitems, but this is enough to ask my question.

 

The underline shows up under the 'E' of exit, but when I press 'Ctrl+E' , it does not trigger the Menu Item Method.

 

Any ideas why I can't get this to work for any of my menu items?

ALT+E would work - if you want CTRL+E you will need to set ashortcut key under the menu item's propoerties

i'm sorry, i did mean Alt+E wont' work.

You have to activate the menu first. For example:

 

&File

...E&xit

 

Alt-F-X would cause the File->Exit menu item to fire.
