I just wabt to know if anyone knows how you can license a application written in VB.NET.

I mean that after installing the application there should be entered a license key to get it to work

Thanks,

Cire

How you decide to go with your licensing is up to you. One of the new trends in licensing is application activation, which connects to the internet and checks a database for info that was used in the registration. You can also make your users enter a serial number and other info without activation and store on the client computer.

There is many possiblitites. Do you know what kind of protection are you looking for?

License Scheme

The license sheme i'm looking for is a license per machine. Actually like the second option you mentioned.

Just end user typing in a license serial number. and after that the application will work before that the application doesn't run.

Maybe you have some websites where i can find some information?

Thanks,

Did I understand this wright ??

You want to copy the functionality of the SevenObject license scheme to one of our own??

Sound pretty daring to me ...but nevertheless why not.

I've a few applications made in VB.Net that I have ready to put online for selling and obviously I want to protect them via licensing but trying to find good information is proving really difficult. You would think that this information is readily available. Anyway just wondering how you are getting on with this feurich.

I have lookde at the SevenObject code. It seems to be written well. But I didn't got it to work.

So after that I didn't spnd time on it anymore. Maybe you can look at the code to and we can help each other understanding it?
