Where to start?

Let me start off by saying I have no programming experience except for maybe some basic programming back in high school. I have never programmed anything object oriented. I currently work in the IT field, just more along the lines of the MCSE track. I am currently trying to change careers and start programming. I've decided Visual C# is the way I want to go. I picked up a copy of visual studio .net but there is only so much I can learn by playing with it. Where can I go for some beginner tutorials on C#, VC#, and OOP programming in general? Everything out there that I have read has expected that you already know VB. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance.

I've looked at these sites, and though they all have a wealth of information, it seems to be over my head. I cannot find any beginner tutorials or material for the absolute newbie. Am I going about programming the wrong way? I remember BASIC having an awesome help file with all the commands listed, what they do, and an example on how to use them. I'm looking for something like that for C#.

If you'd prefer BASIC try looking up VB.Net, .Net is universal across all its languages(except C++) so you won't loose many features using VB(Unmanaged code is the only one I think). Use Google to look for some

The MSDN library in Visual Studio .Net has almost everything you need and anything it doesn't you should find on community websites or msdn.microsoft.com

The best thing for a beginner to do is buy a book. There are loads on beginning with C#, try a Wrox one.
