Stupit Question..."Stream to the browser"

Hi

Have been reading through the company description of a product that we are looking at with the possiblility of buying. In the documentation there is a phrase "stream to the browser", can anyone explain what is ment here, don't want to assume what it means as could be very wrong.

I think it means reading images, file into the browser.
