Simple Sockets tutorial?

Does anyone know where I can find a simple(By simple, I mean: "That my dog can understand without having to read it through twice") sockets tutorial? I've searched google quite a bit, but havn't been able to find much, and all the stuff I did actually find was all for people who had previous experience with winsock.
