My father's school have a network of Win98 to WinXP machines and I want to create a program which will act as a print quota. It does have a number of 'make-it-complicted' factors! and I don't know how to do it at all!
Each printer will be set a number of credits per print - a colour could be 3 credits, a black & white could be 2 credits etc.
When a student sends something to print, I want the program to invisibly kick in, check how many credits the print will cost, check to see whether they have them. If they have enough credits, then let it print and take the credits off their total, otherwise, if there aren't enough credits left, then cancel the print and display a message saying that they have no credits left.
Then, just to make things more difficult... if a student prints to a colour printer, but sets it to print in black & white, I want it to take the credits for a black and white print.
Is any of this possible?
