I'm curious about the star

I've read in this forum that the little star beside your name indicates whether you are logged in or not. If it's yellow you're in, if not you're not. Now....I use the "use cookie so that I don't have to log in every time I go to dot net talk" option. If I do so....and I close all browser windows related to dot net talk....do I still show up as logged in?

Just wondering. I didn't want to confuse folks when I'm not actually "in" dot net talk, but I do like the cookie option. :)

As far as I am aware it is based on you being logged into the site, if you close you deliberately log out or if you are inactive and your session expires then you will be shown as being offline regardless of your cookie settings.
In fact I can see that you are currently off-line as I am typing this.

Thanks!

Thanks, PD! That's exactly what I wanted to know.

It's good to know that I can have the convenience of cookie login without appearing logged in when I'm not. :)
