Help on developing a chat application

I have to develop a messenger program for internal messaging. Voice chat and web cam integration is required for that apart from the basic features. Any clue where can i find help on it?

I will be using .NET for developing the application.

I know MS has Speech SDK for VB6 and C++ but im not sure about VB.NET, anyway check here:

look in your samples directory where you installed visual studio for a sample app called "WinTalk" it should give you a good start.
