Free Computer Books!

Your thread title is a little mis-leading. It's more like free e-books. To be honest, I didn't even notice the poster, and, assuming it was spam, I was ready to report this thread to a moderator.

Did you hear that noise? That was you...sucking all the fun out of free e-books about programming!

And to be 100% factual, you can buy physical books made out of real trees(!) for most of the works linked on that site. It just so happens that they were also released on the web or under a creative commons license and made feely available. So instead of complaining about how they're really electronic books and not really REAL books, realize that they are real books, just in electronic format. AND real format if you want to BUY them...which sort of defeats the point of having free versions of the same book. :)

I don't know about you, but a resource like that is worth hearing about in my opinion.

book
n.

1. A set of written, printed, or blank pages fastened along one side and encased between protective covers.
This isn't the only definition, and your definition works, but this is the definition I tend to use.

You misunderstand. I was simply saying that because I thought it was spam for "free" books ("free" as in maybe pay $20 s&h, and books as in "real books") I was ready to report the thread. Maybe I was critisizing the ambiguity of your thread title, but I wasn't trying to complain. I guess I should have worded my post a little better, but I wouldn't complain about free liturature.

HA HAH HAHHA!! That is too true. Well, if you need any "free" c-1-a-l-i-s I just got an email yesterday that sounds like a great deal!
