DropDownList Box Width

I wonder if there is a way to change the width of the dropdown portion for the DropDownList Box. Due to space limit of the web form, I need to make the combo box small. But, when the dropdown portion is shown, I would like to show a wider width so all the contents are shown. There is such an option on the window form's dropdownlist box but I could not find it on the web form's. Can anyone help?

A dropDownList always sets its' width to the largest row's width.

Not when it's on the web, at least it did not do so on my web form.

if you do not specifiy the "Width", then the control will indeed adjust itself to the longest item..

but its one or the other, you can't do both
